Built by teachers
Varsity Prep started in 2018 with a simple idea: kids in New Milford shouldn't have to leave town for a great summer.
We built camp inside our own schools and staffed it with the teachers and coaches kids already trust. It has grown from one summer program into year-round camp, after-school enrichment and school's-out days, with more than 300 campers in Summer 2026.
We named it Varsity Prep because we want every kid to feel like they made the team, whether their thing is robotics, painting, theater or basketball.

How we run camp
● Local teachers
The people running camp teach and coach in our community all year. Your kids already know a lot of them.
● Every kid
STEM & robotics, arts & crafts, culinary, theater, swim and sports every week, so no kid spends the summer on the sidelines.
● Local school
We run programs inside New Milford schools. No long drives and no unfamiliar buildings. Open to kids from all towns.
● Open to everyone
Open to kids from all over. Last year we had kids from 16 towns spanning 3 states!
● Our Founder
Meet Ray
Ray Cottiers grew up, and then taught and coached in New Milford for 15 years. He was named New Milford School District Teacher of the Year and Bergen County Wrestling Coach of the Year.
He started Varsity Prep in 2018 to give local kids a summer as good as any camp in Bergen County, without leaving town, and now runs it full-time.
